Beastie Boys amerikai hiphop banda New York brooklyni és manhattani részéről.
A Beastie Boysnak szokatlanul hosszú ideje van kritikai és üzleti sikere. Zenéjük leginkább rap, mely gyakran keveredik egy kis funkkal, jazzel, rockkal és punkkal. Jelentős hatásuk van a hiphop szférán belül és kívül egyaránt. 2012-ben az együttest beiktatták a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legendái közé.[1]
A jelenlegi négy tag zsidó származású. Zenéjük ismert a változatosságról, a zenei stílusok kísérletezgetéseiről, komolytalan, vicces viselkedésükről, valamint homályos mondanivalóikról.
A három alaptag: Adam Horovitz, Michael Diamond, Adam Yauch.

Az Adj rá kakaót (Pump up the Volume) 1990-es film is tartalmaz egy kiadatlan számot, a "The Scanario"-t, feltehetően szókimondósága miatt nem került a Licensed To Ill albumra. A filmzene album nem tartalmazza a számot és a filmben is csak rövid ideig hallható, viszont az "Original Ill" című előzetes demo albumon megtalálható hallgatható minőségben.
