Bulgária vasútjának teljes hossza 4294 km, ebből normál nyomtávú (1435 mm) 4049 km, mely 2880 km hosszan villamosított 25 kV 50 Hz-el. Továbbá van még 245 km keskeny nyomtávú vasút is (760mm), mely nem villamosított.[2] A nemzeti vasúttársaság a BDŽ (bolgárul: БДЖ).
