A Bathyraja a porcos halak (Chondrichthyes) osztályának rájaalakúak (Rajiformes) rendjébe, ezen belül az Arhynchobatidae családjába tartozó nem.
Tudnivalók[szerkesztés]
A Bathyraja-fajok többsége a Csendes-óceánban fordul elő, néhányuk pedig a Déli-óceánban található meg. Ennek a porcoshal-nemnek az Atlanti- és az Indiai-óceánokban is vannak képviselőik, bár kevesen. Ezek a porcos halak fajtól függően 14,4-342 centiméteresek.
