Sablon:Infobox kislemez A Bye Bye Mariah Carey amerikai popénekesnő második kislemeze tizenötödik, E=MC² című albumáról.[1][2][3]

Megjelentetése

Bár Carey a dalt elhunyt édesapjáról írta, igyekezett általánosabbra venni a témát, hogy mindenkihez szóljon, aki elveszített valakit.[4] Carey úgy vélte, ha általánosabbá teszi a dalt, akkor „mindenkinek gyógyíthat a sebein, mindenki a saját élményeit éli át rajta kereszül”.[5]

A Mediabase adatai alapján a dalt 2008. április 7-én játszották először a rádiók.[6] Az iTunesról április 14. óta letölthető.[1]

Carey először a T4 4Music-on adta elő a dalt, majd a digitális megjelenés napján, április 14-én ismét fellépett vele, ezúttal a The Oprah Winfrey Showban, majd két nappal később az American Idol 7. évadjának eredményhirdetésén.[1] Április 25-én a Good Morning America műsorban is előadta.

A dalt hivatalosan április 22-én adták hozzá a rádiók játszási listájához.[7].

A Bye tizenkilencedszer is a slágerlista csúcsára emeli Careyt.”[13]

A Bye Bye videoklipjét – miután Carey többször is lemondta előre megbeszélt megjelenését a TRL-en és a BET 106 and Park műsorában – a Comcast.net mutatta be 2008. május 5-én éjfélkor.[16]
