Life

In 1997 graduated at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Hungarian: Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetemen often abbreviated as Zeneakadémia, "Music Academy") and studied classical music under the guidence of Prunyi Ilona afterwards.

In the course of years apart jazz music he tried himself almost in every stream of music: played classical music, easy pop, latin and popular world music as well.

In 2002 he joined to the group called Jazzpression and they soon became one of the most popular jazzbands in Hungary. In 2004 they won the Emerton Award as „the Jazz Band of the Year”. They realesed three disks and were succeeded all around Europe.

In 2007, he set up his own band, The Sárik Péter Trio. The group renewed in 2012 by the joining of Fonay Tibor and Gálfi Attila. The Sárik Péter Trio soon got into the national leader jazz-bands in Hungary. Until 2017 they have released four discs. The Jazzkívánságműsor titled album became golden plate in four weeks after releasing and in 2014 won the Fonogram award in „TheJjazz-album of the Year” category.

Sarik himself was a founder of numerous bandformations. In the recent years he regularly provided concerts inter alia Fábián Juli, Berki Tamás, Pély Barna, Falusi Mariann, Micheller Myrtill, Luiza Zan, Gyárfás István, Hodek Dávid and the Random Trip band.

In 2015 Sárik Péter released a disc with Berki Tamás and it won the Fonogram award in the „Jazz-album of the Year” category again.

As a composer, Sárik possesses many significant international successes. From 2013 he was the composer and musical leader of the Recirquel Újcirkusz Társulat (Recirquel Newcircus Association). His pieces / compositions were setting on podium one after the other in the most significant composer competitions inThe USA and Great Britain.

In 2011 The Hungarian Composer Associacion (Magyar Zeneszerzők Egyesülete) granted his work with Orszáczky prize.

In 2015 Sárik released his „Inside-outside” (Idebant-odakint) headed composer disc in which he wrote songs to his favourite singers. The interesting side of the disc that jazz only hardly can be found on it for the compositions follow the perfrmers unconventional style.

In 2009 Sárik rolled up The Treasure of the World (A Világ összes kincse), a jazz-tale album for children. He marked it with his composer conterparts and in 2014 it was nominated for  Fonogram award as the „Children album of the Year”. The digital audio book showed up on stage later on. The main aim of the project is the popularization and acquaintance of the jazz music among the youngest generation.

From 2013 Sárik is the composer and musical leader of The Recirquel Newcircus Association(Recirquel Újcirkusz Társulat). Up to now he has composed three works for the company in different musical styles from simphonic to jazz.

In 2010 he claimed The Artisjus Prize. In 2014 he was embraced freeman of Cegléd town.
