A Gorgoniidae a virágállatok (Anthozoa) osztályának a szarukorallok (Alcyonacea) rendjébe, ezen belül a Holaxonia alrendjébe tartozó család.
A WoRMS adatai szerint 265 elfogadott faj tartozik ebbe a korallcsaládba.
