This article appears to be confused between the difference between the "Pound Scots" , which was the currency used in Scotland before the Union in 1707, and "Pound Sterling" notes issued by Scottish banks. All the notes which have been issued since 1707, including the Bank of Scotland £20 note which is illustrated, are in pounds sterling - the same currency as is issued by the Bank of England and has ISO currency code "GBP".
