There is no reliable sources supporting Edith Pomare ever existed. Except these two below which are sites with no citation or way to verify accuracy.

No books ever mention her. All the contemporary sources do not mention Edith or any Princess of Tahiti in Tonga. The first newspaper from this period with the words marriage and Tonga dated to March, 1898 mentioned that King Tupou II was engaged to Ofa at this time when the marriage would have occured.

OK, you're right, now I have read the Christopher Buyer's sources on The Tupou Dynasty Genealogy Page 9 and from here he has already deleted Edith Maria:
