Oscar Peterson

Oscar Peterson (Kanada, Montreal, 1925. augusztus 25. - 2007. december 25.) a legismertebb dzessz-zongoristák egyike.

Élete

Trombitán és zongorán kezdett tanulni 5 éves korában édesapjától, de hétéves korában, miután tuberkulózist kapott, már csak zongorán tanult tovább. Legjelentősebb felvételein trióban játszik (zongora-bőgő-ütősök).

Elismerései

• Hétszeres Grammy-díjas, 1997-ben megkapta a Grammy-életműdíjat.
• Kitüntették Glenn Gould-díjjal, UNESCO-díjjal, Juno Awardsszal és számos kanadai kitüntetést kapott.
