Maria Andor (March 8 1890 – December 1968) Maria Anna Johanna Ludovika Monheit was born 8 March 1890 in Budapest, daughter of Manheit Jakab, opera singer [1] [2].
As a dramatic stage actress she began in 1908 under the name Maria Andor, studying under Krecsányi Ignác [3]. Later she worked in Berlin under Max_Reinhardt, appearing as Sumurun in his 1913 London production of "The Young Sheik and Sumurun", opposite her then husband, opera singer Palotay Árpád[4]. They had married in 1911, divorcing in September 1916.[5]. In 1914 she was signed to the Nemzeti Színház in Cluj [6]. She later appeared in Mannheim and at the Munich Staatsoper. [7]. Sometime before 1938 she married de:Eugen Keller (Theaterintendant), Swiss theater intendant.[8] [9].
When the political climate became untenable they removed to Switzerland. In 1943, having acted in the play in the past, she persuaded her husband to produce "Az Ember Tragédiája" by Madách_Imre_(író) in Bern [10] After Keller's death she published "Eugen Keller. Theater als Berufung und Verpflichtung" in Bern 1962. She died before 12 December 1968.[11]
