Összefoglaló

Stema oraşului Vişeu de Sus, potrivit anexei nr. 1.2, se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular argintiu cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat de un brâu undat albastru.

în partea superioară se află o locomotivă cu abur neagră orientată spre stânga, compusă dintr-un tampon de cuplare, tender, cabină şi cadrul locomotivei de formă dreptunghiulară, unite; cadrul locomotivei încadrează cazanul cilindric care are deasupra domul de nisip cilindric cu pârghie mobilă, domul de abur şi ţeava de evacuare a aburului din care iese fum; locomotiva are patru roţi unite prin mecanismele de distribuţie.

în vârful scutului se află un brad verde cu patru rânduri de cetini, însoţit de o parte şi de alta de câte o floare-de-colţ de aur, cu şase petale mari şi trei petale mici cu stamine în mijloc.

Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu trei turnuri crenelate.

Semnificaţiile elementelor însumate

Brâul undat reprezintă râul Vişeu.

Locomotiva simbolizează mocăniţa cu abur care circulă pe ultima cale ferată forestieră din România.

Bradul verde şi floarea-de-colţ reprezintă bogăţia silvică, cinegetică şi flora locală.

Coroana murală cu trei turnuri crenelate semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de oraş.
