The picture is from a Brady negative, taken at the headquarters of the Army of thePotomac, at Antietam, on October 4, 1862. acquired most honorable places in history. Among these were Ulysses S. Grant,William T. Sherman, George H. Thomas, Phil. Sheridan, and others.
