This is a bunker in the ocean town of Durres, Albania. These types of Bunkers litter the beach and country side of the small, but beautiful country. On the beach they can be seen every 100 to 200 meters. They are a sad testiment to 40 years of paranoid dictatorship Albania underwent from the end of World War II until 1993. The dictators feared an invasion from the west therefore all the Bunkers face that direction to help ward off attack. It was taken with a Canon Powershot A80 on July 16, 2005 and has undergone no editing.
