A Hemidactylus a hüllők (Reptilia) osztályának pikkelyes hüllők (Squamata) rendjébe, ezen belül a gekkófélék (Gekkonidae) családjába tartozó nem.[1][2]

Tudnivalók[szerkesztés]

Ennek a gekkónemnek a fajai a trópusokon világszerte megtalálhatók. Afrikában és Európában a szubtrópusokon is előfordulnak. Az ember segítségével vagy úszótörmelékeken utazva, egyes fajok kiváló szigetkolonizálók.[2] Néhány évente újabb fajok kerülnek fel a fajlistára. A lábaik levelekre emlékeztetnek.[3]
