A Moody's Corporation egy holding-társaság, (NYSE: MCO) a Moody's Investors Service pénzügyi kutatással és elemzéssel, hitelminősítéssel foglalkozik kereskedelmi és kormányzati szinten.

A társaság rangsorolással is foglalkozik, a kölcsönvevők hitelképességét mérik egy szabványos osztályozási skálát használva.

A Moody's céget John Moody alapította 1909-ben. A legfelső intézményi tulajdonosa a Berkshire Hathaway holdingvállalat és Davis Selected Advisers befektetési társaság.

Osztályozás

A Moody's például a cégadósi körben az átlagos adósságpiaci kockázati felárat méri. Többek között a jelzálogkötelezettség-fedezetű pénzpiaci eszközökhöz köthető veszteségleírások alapján le- és felminősítéseket végez.

Besorolásai ábécé szerinti osztályzásban történnek. Hosszú és rövid távú besorolásokat végez.
