  • The Portrait of Empress Catherine I of Russia[1] by Andreas Møller (1684–1762(?)). 1712. State Hermitage.
  • The map of Baltic Sea with the location of the pipeline Nord Stream.
  • The text: “In 1712 the portrait of the Russian Empress Catherine I was painted in Greifswald. 300 years later the gas pipeline Nord Stream linked Russian Vyborg and German Greifswald”.

    English: The portrait is considered as the symbol of the pipeline Nord Stream and of the Russian-German partnership. The work originates from the collection of the House of Hanover. The painting was auctioned at Sotheby's in 2005, then, in 2009, it was purchased by Gazprom Germania, and in 2010 the portrait was transferred to the collection of the Hermitage Museum.
