Metapedia is a white nationalist and extreme right-wing online encyclopedia^[1] promoting a Euro-centric point of view in its materials. It was officially founded on 28 April 2007.^[2] However the archives of Metapedia indicate that its history begins earlier with Swedish language content starting August 9, 2006. Metapedians have stated that their goal is "to present a more balanced and fair image of the pro-European struggle for the general public as well as for academics, who until now have been dependant on strongly biased and hostile “researchers” like Searchlight, ADL, Southern Poverty Law Center, Simon Wiesenthal Centre, and such."^[3]

Many language sections were launched starting with Swedish and Danish in 2006. English, German and French were added in May 2007. In the second half of 2007 more language sections were added, namely Portuguese, Czech, Slovak, Spanish and Hungarian. In 2008 and 2009, Romanian and Norwegian were added.^[4] Subjects tackled include ideology and philosophy of pro-European people, their parties, movements, literature, historical and contemporary events relevant to the so-called "pro-European struggle", media control, bias and orientation issues, alternative music, traditionalism, ariosophy, European and Indo-European traditions, European indigenous religions, anthropology and genetics. Metapedia's Alexa ranking is 105,616 worldwide but 16,170 in Germany.^[5]

The site has been condemned by the Southern Poverty Law Center both for its racism and for its typos.^[6] It has been noted by many observers for its glowing description of Adolf Hitler.^[7]
