A Nitrosopumilaceae egy Archaea család a Nitrosopumilales rendben.^[1] Az N. maritimus képes 10 nanomoláros koncentrációnál is ammóniát oxidálni.^[2] Az üledékből David Stahl (University of Washington) csoportja izolálta.^[3]
